Honoring Our Magic Makers (TEACHERS!)

It’s that time of year when we honor the teachers in our children’s lives. A good teacher can change the kind of year a student has, a great teacher can change the kind of life a student has.

Teachers are lucky people. Yes, they are WAY under payed and WAY over worked and do not usually get the respect from our society that they deserve BUT they do get the opportunity to help shape little minds and that is huge.

Here are some ideas to help honor that special teacher in your life:

Have your child write a letter to their favorite teacher. I know teachers who have saved these types of letters over the years and return to them again and again.

Work with your child to create a unique award for the teacher (like “most inspirational,” or “best motivator”) and create the award online with a template, print it on paper and frame it.

Post a thank you on a teacher’s Facebook page or tag them with a sweet photo on Instagram.

Give them the gift of school supplies or a gift card to a school supply store so they don’t have to spend their own money on school projects in the future.

Give them a membership to a museum or tickets to a sporting event or a concert you know they’ll like.
