Sophie

I grew up in northeastern Connecticut, where there are more cows than people. My partner and I recently moved to Asheville, North Carolina in January because we'd lived in a small town our whole lives and wanted to explore the world! We chose Asheville because after visiting a few times last year we fell in love with the energy of the city and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Intuitively I felt it was a place we could grow as people—and so far it’s been amazing!

I love working at SoulKu because not only do I get to make beautiful meaningful jewelry, but I get to work alongside a close-knit group of amazing, supportive women. Despite being the oldest of four siblings I’m usually pretty shy, but I’ve felt at home here since day one because of how positive the culture is. You can tell everyone genuinely cares about what they’re doing and each other, and I think that’s so special to have in the workplace.

When I’m not making jewelry at SoulKu, I’m making jewelry at home for fun and cuddling with my fur babies Autumn and Ginger. I also love hiking in the mountains because the views here are incredible—there’s over 100 waterfalls within an hour of Asheville! And, there’s a lot of preserved land for me to explore and pretend I’m a forest fairy. 🧚‍♀️⛰

My favorite SoulKu item to make is the new Alchemy Collection! It's so gorgeous, I can make 100 in a row without getting tired of looking at them. I love how the light catches on the gold edges and accentuates all the stones in this collection. I also love how well they pair with our 14k Gold Hoops to make a cohesive look.
