I was discussing the Jewish New Year celebration and High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur with a friend yesterday and while this happens in September it exploded in my heart and really inspired me around Intentionally Creating my New Year NOW.
She explained it this way:
"Rosh Hashanah is the New Year so it's a party - you eat apples and honey to set a sweet New Year. Then you reflect for the next 10 days. It's like 10 days of repentance. You think about your "sins" and promise to do better.
Then, you fast on Yom Kippur to create a sort of clean slate for the year ahead. Yom Kippur actually means 'Day of Atonement." You start the year off ready to be a better person and learn from your mistakes."
She also mentioned that some people call Yom Kippur The Day of Awe. This is what really set my soul on fire.
It's not just a new day, a new year where you begin again. It's a brilliant opportunity to be AMAZING.
After reflecting on your humanness - warts and all - you can then stand in AWE of your capacity to grow, to change, to evolve. In AWE. It moves me to tears just to write that down.
To be in AWE of our humanness is the greatest gift we can give ourselves. Yes, we make mistakes, yes we say and do things we shouldn't, AND we always have the capacity to start again, to be better, to grow as spiritual beings having a human experience.
We challenge you this year to find moments of AWE inspired by your very own self.
We challenge you to start again this New Year; to reflect on where you have been and what you can do better, to ask for forgiveness and to forgive yourself and to also be aware of where you want to go and what it will take to get you there.
We created our products for moments just like these - when you want to AWE yourself or help someone else AWE themselves.
Our gemstones are prayed over, sung to and blessed so that their healing and energetic vibrations may be amplified one thousand times over and act as absolute support in times like these. Our offerings to the world are simply an opportunity for AWE.
