Every month we will pull an Animal Medicine card specifically for the audience of SoulKu. Each animal exhibits certain habits, has an essence, or portrays a personality trait that can be relayed into messages about how to live life.
The monthly card will help guide, amplify, and define the energetics of your month. If you are reading this blog, this medicine is for you. Tune into the Animal Medicine to help you move through whatever is presented to you.
Master Wombat Medicine to know that even in the darkness we can be at home in our skin.
You might ask, "What exactly is a Wombat and what on earth does it have to do with me and my spirit?!"
Wombats are short-legged, muscular marsupials native to Australia. They are nocturnal, making them at home in the dark, and live in the vast burrows they dig deep inside the earth.
Wombats teach us about feeling at home within. They remind us that even in the darkness we can be a comfort to ourselves by being at home in our own skin.
For those of you that don't feel at home anywhere, or for those moments in life when you feel out of place, or when you feel you haven't found your people, or that you somehow don't fit in or belong, Wombat medicine is there to lean into.
Wombat teaches that even in darkness, if we can be accepting of ourselves, our vast journey, our life experiences as a whole, without judgement and through deep authenticity, we can begin to find our own home within.
Brene Brown talks about this when she says, "Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we'll ever do." This is the perfect example of what Wombat teaches.
As our compassion for ourselves and our story grows, we find we feel more and more at home in our own skin. We stop looking for "home" outside of us, and we come to realize home is wherever we are if we are truly and authentically ourselves. When you feel the freedom to be yourself, you will truly feel at home in your life, with your family, and with your tribe.
Wombat asks you to align with yourself, your story, your past, and your present. Let go of the person you've pretended to be and be the person you truly are, knowing that this is the path and all is well. Everything you do from this place will be in harmony with your soul. Peace, happiness, and belonging are inevitable.
